Football can change lives. But for many Muslim girls, barriers are making football out of reach. Despite a strong passion, many Muslim girls face real barriers to getting involved, from cultural perceptions and lack of modest clothing options, to concerns around privacy and environments where football is played.

 

We want to change this. No matter age, role, ability or background, we want every girl to believe that they belong in football – they are Made for this Game.

 

• Only 40% of Muslim girls in mainstream schools feel comfortable taking part in physical activity
• Fewer than 25% join clubs outside school

 

 

 

The FA and Nike, alongside Youth Sport Trust and Muslim Sports Foundation have created a top tips practical guide and full toolkit to help you break down the barriers Muslim girls face, in PE, football and across wider sport. They’re full of real insights, practical tips, guidance and case studies to help you create spaces where every girl feels seen, respected, and empowered to take part.
